Off Grid
Off Grid or Stand-alone solar power refers to a solar energy system that is not connected to the main power grid.
These systems typically include solar panels, batteries, a charge controller, and an inverter charger, which work together to generate and store electricity.
Off Grid power systems are commonly used in remote areas where grid power is not available, or as a backup power source for critical equipment or used in conjunction with a genset.
Grid Connect
A grid-connected solar power system is connected to the utility grid. It consists of solar panels, an inverter, and a bi-directional meter. The solar panels generate DC electricity which is then converted into AC electricity by the inverter to power 240V electrical loads.
Any excess energy generated by the solar panels that is not immediately used is sold back to the utility grid through the bi-directional meter.
